There is still time to book a place at the ABRSM conference which will be held at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London on Saturday November 7th. The cost is £80.
I’ve never been to one of these conferences but I have to admit the programme sounds very interesting and varied. Two of the subjects to be dealt with are why students need to pass a music theory exam and why they need to learn scales. As these are questions frequently asked by my pupils, it would be helpful if I had some more thorough answers to give.
Among the additional activities offered (outside the main programme), is the chance to meet ABRSM examiners (from 12.00-12.30) and find out what it takes to become one.
